Class 11 JEE Preparation: The First Six Months
· Aayam IIT-JEE faculty
The first six months of Class 11 decide how the next two years go. The jump from Class 10 to JEE-level problems is large, and students who build the right habits early find Class 12 much easier.
Maths: get fluent with the basics
Sets, functions, trigonometry and quadratic equations show up everywhere later, from calculus to coordinate geometry. Solve a large number of basic problems quickly before moving on to harder ones.
Physics: master units, vectors and kinematics
Most early difficulty in Physics comes from weak vectors and kinematics. Draw diagrams for every problem, write the given data and units, and only then pick a formula.
Chemistry: don't leave it for later
Students often treat Chemistry as the easy subject and fall behind. Mole concept and atomic structure need practice, and Inorganic Chemistry needs regular revision from NCERT.
Habits that matter more than hours
- Revise every class the same day, even if briefly.
- Keep a notebook of problems you could not solve and retry them a week later.
- Attempt every test, and analyse each one: concept error, calculation error, or time.
- Ask doubts within a day; unresolved doubts pile up fast.
- Sleep seven hours. Tired students make calculation mistakes.
Practise for the computer-based exam early
JEE Main is taken on a computer. Start taking a few online tests in Class 11 so that the screen, the question palette and on-screen time management are familiar long before the real exam.
Aayam's JEE Vision course is a two-year programme for Class 11 students in Indore, led by IIT-trained faculty. You can also try a free JEE Main mock test on our NTA-style screen.
